Putin’s confidants allegedly conduct secret negotiations with Ukraine

Officially, there have been no negotiations between Ukraine and Russia for months. However, talks would unofficially take place again – behind the back of Russian President Vladimir Putin (70). Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Ukrainian secret service, reports this in an interview with the Greek portal “Iefmerida”.

According to Chernyak, the Ukrainian secret service would hold talks with powerful allies of Putin. These people are against the invasion of Ukraine. However, the Russian interlocutors are not official representatives of the Kremlin. The talks would instead be held without Putin’s knowledge.

The Ukrainian secret service found “mechanisms for cooperation even with people very close to Putin”. Among them are people “known to the public as supporters of Great Russia,” Chernyak revealed. “There are some people in Putin’s circle who do not support his policy towards Ukraine. They are not doing this because they are friends with Ukraine or because they hate war in general. It’s more about this particular war.”

There are no crash plans yet

Many people close to Putin lost money and influence as a result of the war in Ukraine. “They don’t like it, that’s why they talk,” the Secret Service officer said. In a conversation with the Greek portal, he left open how specific the talks are about negotiations.

Trustees, however, are not yet planning turmoil within the Kremlin or even the overthrow of Putin. “That’s only an option if Putin is weakened enough. Right now it’s not. That’s why these people are not ready to stage a coup yet.”

A new Estonian secret service report over the weekend revealed Putin’s real goals. Therefore, the Russian president must not only want to conquer all of Ukraine, but also break the unity of the West. The Ukrainian secret service can also draw similar conclusions from the current findings. “Putin is not only interested in Ukraine. He is interested in all of Europe,” Chernyak said. “Putin will not stop once he conquers Ukraine. He will continue.” (zis)
