Almost at the same time, Russians rallied against the war elsewhere in Zurich. They condemned the “criminal war” and campaigned for “peace and victory for Ukraine” and “freedom for Russia”.

Hard pace required against Russia

About 200 people took part in a solidarity march for Ukraine in Geneva on Saturday afternoon. Switzerland and Geneva authorities were urged to take a tougher stance against Russia.

Under the motto “Stop the war, support Ukraine”, the organizers, the Geneva Ukraine Switzerland Committee, called on the federal and cantonal authorities to do everything possible to support Ukraine in the war against Russia. These include freezing the assets of Russian oligarchs and increasing support for Ukrainian refugees in Switzerland, particularly in finding housing and employment. (sda)
