Kremlin politicians dozed off during Putin’s speech

Shortly before the anniversary of the war in Ukraine, the Russian president Vladimir Putin (70) addressed the people of Russia in a speech.

As usual, the Kremlin ruler was confident of victory and never missed an opportunity to blame the West for the war in Ukraine. However, as photographs of the audience show, his highly anticipated nationwide speech seemed to pay very little attention to his audience. They didn’t seem tied up at all – they were falling asleep in front of him.

Photos of slumbering politicians are circulating on the internet

Shots from the room expose the slumbering audience. High-ranking Kremlin politicians such as Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov (72) or former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev (57) are also part of the rising audience.

Images currently circulating on social media show some politicians yawning or closing their eyes peacefully during the 115-minute speech.

Putin’s statements hardly came as a surprise

It is not surprising that the Russian president bored many of his viewers with his speech. None of his statements were unexpected – instead, the Kremlin chief interspersed his speech with the usual firecrackers of accusations against the West.

The US and the NATO states are themselves responsible for the war, the 70-year-old claims in the nearly two-hour performance in Moscow. They sought a “strategic defeat” of Russia with the aim of destroying the country.

As a result of the growing confrontation, Putin finally announces the suspension of the last nuclear disarmament deal with the US. (dzc/SDA)
