Life sentence for Buffalo gunman for racist act Bolsonaro announces return to Brazil

After the racially motivated murder of ten people in the American city of Buffalo, the perpetrator has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Judge Susan Eagan announced this on Wednesday after emotional statements from the relatives, American media reported unanimously.

According to TV channel CNN, the 19-year-old perpetrator had previously cried in the room and apologized: “I shot and killed people because they were black. Looking back now, I can’t believe I really did. done. I believed what I read online – and acted out of hatred.” He doesn’t want anyone to be inspired by his crime.

Earlier, the convict had apparently escaped an attack in the courtroom. TV footage showed a man in a gray sweater trying to get hold of him. Security personnel stood in his way and the suspect was taken out of the room just to be on the safe side. After a short pause, the hearing continued.

The white shooter pleaded guilty to domestic terrorism and murder as hate crimes in New York State in November. The heavily armed man shot himself in front of and in a supermarket in Buffalo in mid-May. In addition to ten deaths, at least three were injured, 11 of the 13 victims were black. (sda/dpa)
