An assailant stabbed a 33-year-old woman with a knife in Delft, the Netherlands, seriously injuring another woman and a man. Following Sunday morning’s crime in a residential area, a 31-year-old suspect has been arrested following a chase in Belgium, police said. The man is being questioned at the police station. The detectives suspect a relationship crime. The two injured, a 55-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, were taken to hospital.
“I came out of the church and saw the woman screaming,” says a resident of public broadcaster NOS. “I was about to run to her when a man came running with a knife.” Only after the attacker had left did she run to the heavily bleeding woman on the sidewalk. She had stab wounds all over. “And there were two more people in the yard.” The police tried at full speed to get clarity about the course and background of the act of violence. (saw/sda/dpa)
