The two victims of the deadly attack on a northern German regional train on Wednesday are a 16-year-old teenager and a 19-year-old man. Schleswig-Holstein Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack said this in Kiel on Thursday.
The condition and severity of the injuries of the other victims were initially unclear in the morning, according to police information.
A 33-year-old stateless Palestinian allegedly stabbed several passengers while driving from Kiel to Hamburg on Wednesday afternoon. Two people died, seven were injured according to initial findings. The alleged perpetrator, who was overpowered by witnesses, was also injured. At the time of the deadly knife attack, about 120 people were on the regional train between Kiel and Hamburg.
On Thursday there was a bright candle in a tall glass in one of the shelters on the platform. Furthermore, there were hardly any traces of the attack. Only a few camera teams could be seen around the station. (aeg/sda/dpa)
