Start shooting for biopic about Amy Winehouse – first photo published The oil company ExxonMobile knew about the climate crisis as a researcher – and kept silent

Almost twelve years after the death of Amy Winehouse, the shooting of a biopic about the life of the British soul icon has now started. It starts on Monday, director Sam Taylor-Johnson (55, “Fifty Shades of Gray”) wrote on Instagram on Friday. In addition, the Brit posted the first photo of lead actress Marisa Abela in the iconic look of the celebrated singer – with a richly teased updo, tattoos and large earrings.

The British Abela (26), known from the HBO series ‘Industry’, posted a photo in which she stands in front of a large graffiti portrait of Winehouse. “I love you Amy,” she wrote.

The biopic plans to film the eventful life of the Grammy winner were announced last June. Back to Black is being written by Matt Greenhalgh, who previously wrote the script for Taylor-Johnson’s feature debut Nowhere Boy (2009), about the young John Lennon.

Winehouse (“Rehab”, “Back to Black”) died of alcohol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27 after years of struggling with drug and alcohol problems. British director Asif Kapadia shot ‘Amy’ in 2015, an Oscar-winning documentary about the life of the soul star. This is the first feature film to receive support from the Winehouse estate as well.
