The British-American influencer Andrew Tate (36) remains stuck in Romania. A court in Bucharest on Tuesday rejected an appeal against the pre-trial detention made by Tate, his brother Tristan Tate, 34, who was also imprisoned, and two alleged Romanian accomplices, Romanian media reported.
Tate and his alleged accomplices were arrested in late December on suspicion of rape, human trafficking and money laundering, after which a court ordered a 30-day pre-trial detention. This could be objected to.
The suspects allegedly forced young women to participate in commercially distributed sex videos, which, according to media reports, were made in a villa in the village of Voluntari, near Bucharest. The Tate brothers have been in the crosshairs of Romanian detectives since April 2021.
Andrew Tate rose to fame in 2016 when he was kicked off Britain’s Big Brother show for leaking a video of him beating a woman with a belt. (SDA)
