Tesla falls 76 meters – family survives

The American entrepreneur Elon Musk (51) is not doing well. In addition to the ongoing stress with his social media platform Twitter, shares in his electric car company Tesla are also falling. But now he has reason to be happy, at least somewhat.

Because the whole world is amazed by one of its constructions – the Tesla Y. As reported by NBC News, one such model fell off a cliff in California on Monday, more than 76 meters deep. And they all survived. In the car was a family, a girl (4) and a boy (9) as well as the father (42) and the mother (42).

“Unfortunately, we come to such missions far too often. Their survival was nothing short of a miracle,” said Fire Chief Brian Pottenger at the scene of the accident. The car flipped several times and landed on its wheels on a rocky stretch of shore. Such accidents were usually fatal.

A firefighter involved in the rescue operation wrote on Twitter: “Now I want a Tesla like that too.”

“Wow, he drives extremely fast”

The fire brigade was able to free the girl and boy with ropes. And the police air unit rescued the parents in an extensive helicopter operation. Police posted video of the dramatic rescue operation, which was hampered by high winds. The rescuers themselves would have risked their lives in the operation.

Police say the car went off the road about 19 miles south of San Francisco on Pacific Coast Highway on Monday and fell off a cliff. The point, which is up to 90 meters deep, is known as the “Devil’s Slide”.

A witness described the accident as follows: “As I drove by, I thought, ‘Wow, he’s driving extremely fast to make this turn.’ And I see this car in my rear view mirror, and it just goes over the edge and straight down .»

According to the latest police findings, the father apparently steered the car off the road on purpose to kill himself and the others. An arrest warrant has been issued against him for attempted murder. The background is still unclear. (tv/sda)
