Since Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan announced their retirement from the service of the crown in early 2020 and moved their life center to the US, the relationship within the royal family has been tense. But long before that, Prince William and his brother were said to be bubbling up.
In the 2019 documentary “Harry and Meghan – An African Journey”, the youngster revealed that he and William were on “different paths”. And also in the Netflix series “Harry & Meghan”, which came out in December, the 38-year-old repeatedly fought the older man. Harry speaks of “institutional manipulation” and accuses: “You lied to protect my brother.”
Despite everything, there has never been an official split between the two until now. Harry’s latest revelations could drive a final wedge between him and William. The Royal’s memoir will be published on January 10, and the title already gives an idea of who will star in the book: “Spare” refers to the phrase “the heir and the spare” commonly used in Britain – “the heir and the deputy ». A clear nod to William, the heir to the throne, and Harry, who has always been overshadowed by the public.
The younger man himself chose the title for his biography, which will be called “Reserve” in Germany and Switzerland. In addition, Omid Scobie, a journalist specializing in the royal family, writes in his column that he is finally adopting the derogatory name that the British press in particular has given him all his life.
We are delighted to announce the remarkably personal and emotionally powerful story of Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex.

Harry would shoot William live in the book. Royal experts are sure: “Spare” will destroy the relationship between the two forever. “Everything has been revealed,” said a Sunday Times reader. “There are these little details and a description of the fight between the brothers. I can’t imagine how Harry and William could ever reconcile after that.”
Overall, the memoir is “worse than the royal family expected,” the source continued. “It’s particularly tough on William and Kate gets a pretty broad side as well.” A member of the royal family, on the other hand, is doing better than expected: Harry and William’s father Charles.
The question remains whether this was the case from the beginning or only when he was made king. Actually, Harry’s book was already announced for this fall. According to media reports, Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson wanted to revise and tone down some passages after her death on Sept. 8. Charles might have benefited from that.
