Benedict died on Saturday morning at 9:34 am at the age of 95 in the Vatican monastery Mater Ecclesiae. He lived there for the past few years, after he stepped down in 2013. A funeral service is scheduled for January 5 at Sint-Pietersplein. According to Bruni, that should just happen at Benedict’s request. (sda/dpa)
