Bomb threat at Pristina airport

Bomb Threat at Pristina Airport! As Blick reader-reporter Tim R.* (25) reports on the spot, the “Adem Jashari” airport in the Kosovo capital had to be evacuated shortly after 9 am on Wednesday morning. Shortly after St. Gallen and his friends landed, all passengers were told to evacuate the building in an emergency.

“Suddenly everyone ran out in a panic,” reader Tim R. tells Blick. When he asked a local police officer why, they said a bomb threat had been received. All roads are closed and the police and army are on duty. “We’ve been stuck here for almost two hours now.”

Passengers and employees brought to safety

The Swiss can well imagine that the incident is related to the current conflict between Serbia and Kosovo. “It’s strange that something like this is happening now.”

The airport confirmed the incident on the portal “KALLXO.com”: “We have received a bomb threat,” spokeswoman Valentina Gara said. Passengers and employees have been evacuated and brought to safety.

In recent weeks, disturbing reports from the Western Balkans have piled up. Since the start of December, Serbian military convoys rolled towards Kosovo, the dispute between the parties threatens to escalate. Only recently has Serbia put its army on edge. (dzc)
