On December 23, winds of up to 50 mph caused about 500 flights to be delayed or canceled at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. Winter storm “Elliott” caused turbulence in the skies in the northeastern United States and made it difficult for many aircraft to land. Among other things, this has led to the following spectacular images:
The USA’s National Weather Service’s Aviation Weather Center issued an airspace warning warning of turbulence and sometimes strong gusts of wind.
