Suspect states “pathological hatred of foreigners”.

A shooting broke out in Paris on Friday, killing three. The shooter, a 69-year-old Frenchman, is a right-wing extremist. Now new details about him have emerged: since a break-in six years ago, the man has “always wanted to kill migrants or foreigners”. A racist motive was already included in Saturday’s investigation into intentional murder and serious violence.

According to prosecutors, the man initially wanted to attack people in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis, which is heavily influenced by migrants. He went there armed “to commit murders of foreigners,” it says. He then abandoned his plan because there were only a few people on the scene and he couldn’t easily reload his rifle because of his clothes.

On Friday, a man fired several shots at a Kurdish community center, killing three people. Three other people were injured in the attack in the tenth arrondissement of Paris.

According to the Kurdish umbrella organization Kurdish Democratic Council in France (CDK-F), all victims are Kurdish activists. The alleged perpetrator, a 69-year-old Frenchman, has been arrested. Due to his health condition, he was taken to a psychiatric ward. (SDA)
