XXXTentacion’s death shocked fans around the world. The rapper, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was shot dead in South Florida at the age of 20.

Since then, various rumors and conspiracy theories have been circulating about his death, which are so confused that we don’t want to mention them here.

That happened

So far it is known that XXXTentacion probably died in a robbery – a Louis Vuitton bag was allegedly stolen from his car. On June 18, 2018, the rapper was about to get into his car in front of a bike shop in Deerfield Beach, Florida, when he was surprised and shot by the suspects. He was then taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The four suspects Michael Boatwright, Dedrick D. Williams, Trayvon Newsome and Robert Allen must now answer in court. Trials will begin early next year.

The plot around rapper Drake

Shortly after his murder, rumors surfaced that fellow rapper Drake had something to do with the murder. The rumor originated in an Instagram post from XXXTentacion. He posted a story in February 2018, just a few months before his death, stating, “If anyone tries to kill me, it’s @champagnepapi – I’ll tell you now.” “Champagnepapi” is Drake’s Instagram name.

The year before, the two musicians had a fight over XXXTentacion accusing Drake of stealing his streams. Flow describes the way someone raps. There are also references to the recordings on several of Drake’s tracks – which made the conspiracy theory even more plausible to some. XXXTentacion later claimed that his Instagram was hacked and that he did not write the post himself.

The witness list includes some well-known names

Last Thursday it was announced that Drake and some other well-known names from the rap scene are being called to testify as witnesses in court. In addition to Drake, his colleagues 6ix9ine, Joe Budden, Offset, Quavo and rapper Takeoff, who was recently killed in a shooting, were also reported as witnesses. However, that doesn’t mean they’ll actually appear in court – the lawyers can ask not to be subpoenaed anyway, as there’s no evidence of their involvement in XXXTentacion’s murder.
