Zelensky also wants to bring Kremlin propagandists to justice

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, 44, called on Sunday for an international special court against anyone involved in Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.

He stressed that “it’s not just about the leadership of the Kremlin”. In an interview with French TV channels TF1 and LCI, Zelensky said: “The Kremlin and those who support the leadership in waging a war against Ukraine must be held accountable. This also applies to the propagandists and strategists who ‘forced’ their ideology on society.” Because they too should answer in court for the atrocities in Ukraine.

Already more than 50,000 war crimes?

“We need an international court and would like most countries in the world to support this resolution,” Zelensky said.

The European Commission has already unveiled plans on November 30 to set up a UN-backed specialized tribunal to punish Russia’s aggression. However, only the few selected people responsible for the decision to invade Ukraine are targeted.

More than 54,500 Russian war crimes have been recorded nationwide and at least 450 children have been killed since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, according to Ukrainian prosecutors. (ct)
