Near Miss – Why Dive Buoys Are Vital Striped Creature From The Deep – New Species Of Shark Discovered In Australia

Christopher Lastra lives in Hawaii and is a passionate spear fisherman. He regularly dives with his harpoon off the coast of Honolulu. Now he’s uploaded a video of a dive on his YouTube channel that he’s not likely to forget. He recently narrowly escaped a serious injury.

The 30-year-old Lastra is actually an experienced diver who knows that you never dive without a buoy. This makes it possible for water sports enthusiasts to see where divers are located, so that such (near) accidents do not happen. In the video, Lastra says he lost his buoy just a week before the incident.

Surprising peace and insight

Lastra escapes with a shock and a broken fin. If the propeller, which can penetrate even turtles, had been a few inches closer, it probably would have lost a foot. Despite this, the diver remained surprisingly calm and took all the blame when the skipper asked how he was.

Actually, no boats are allowed to sail on the channel in which Lastra dived. Still, he bears full responsibility for the incident, the 30-year-old writes under the YouTube video. The whole thing will probably teach him a lesson. “Always dive with a buoy,” he writes. (lzo)
