The individual sponsorship is aimed at people who have been sentenced to death in Iran in recent weeks. The Swiss group is thus part of an international campaign. In Germany, numerous members of the Bundestag have already taken on similar sponsorships and other countries will soon follow.
The campaign would be overseen by the civil society group “FREE IRAN Switzerland”, which also manages the secretariat of the parliamentary group. It is a politically independent platform.
More information about the members and individual sponsorship will be announced soon, the group writes.
