A lot has changed this year. So it’s reassuring that some things have stayed the same: “Hentai” and “Japanese” remain the most searched terms on the porn site. Below that, “Milf” and “Lesbian” have switched places. “Real amateur homemade” registered the largest increase. This brings us to the trends:

Pornhub analysts have identified the Reality category as the #1 trend: “Our stats suggest that the quality of videos has improved as more amateurs become full-time performers, but visitors are still looking for a real homemade porn experience.”

Gender also remains a hot topic. The terms “FTM” (female to male), “MTF” (male to female), and “transgender” are especially popular among Gen Y. But more on that below.

Also interesting: the longest sessions take place with search terms such as “mature” (roughly: mature) and “tattooed women”. “Muscle men” on the other hand are quick to seal the deal. Pornhub explains this as follows: “These categories are popular with older visitors, who tend to spend more time on Pornhub compared to younger age groups.”

Are women and men different or not? A question on which minds are divided. Showing the most popular search terms on Pornhub: Both are correct. While there are many similarities in the most searched terms, there are differences in the nuances. Compared to men, women are more likely to see ‘scissors’ than men, i.e. two women rubbing their vulvas together.

And it’s no longer the case that only men visit Pornhub. In the Philippines and Colombia, women even make up the majority. On average, just over a third of global visitors are women.
