“Usually I don’t share inside stories, but today I make an exception. First of all, I want to say that I have full confidence in the source. And secondly, this information is quite spicy,” Putin’s former speechwriter and political pundit Abbas Gallyamov said on Twitter. his Telegram channel Gallyamov has been living in exile in Israel since 2018.

He says he knows about a contingency plan from his trusted source, a Kremlin insider. This plan must be implemented if Russia loses the war against Ukraine. The covert operation has been on the agenda since spring and aims to bring Putin and his elite to safety abroad.

“Operation Noah’s Ark”

Unofficially, the operation should be called “Noah’s Ark”, or “Noah’s Ark”. According to Gallyamov, Argentina or Venezuela are the countries where Putin should go into hiding if he is defeated in the war. Initially, China was also a possible destination.

“As the name of the operation suggests, it is about finding a new country to go to when things get really uncomfortable at home,” writes Gallyamov, adding: “The Russian leadership does not rule out Putin ending the war. could lose power, in which case it should be evacuated immediately.”

Rosneft Vice becomes alleged helper

Gallyamov’s source also told him who was responsible for organizing the escape plan: Yuri Kurilin, vice president of the Russian oil company Rosneft. He is the right “man on the spot” who can arrange all the necessary steps to enable Vladimir Putin and his entourage to escape to South America.

According to Gallyamov, Kurilin has US citizenship and good international connections. He graduated from Hayward University in California and has held leadership positions at the energy company BP, among others.

“What plan do you mean?”

Gallyamov claims Rosneft’s deputy officially resigned in the summer to secretly devote himself entirely to “Operation Noah’s Ark”. However, Newsweek magazine writes that Kurilin will continue to officially hold his Rosneft post.

“Unfortunately, my source has no further details on this operation. Nevertheless, what we know is enough to understand: if they [die russische Führung] say that everything is going according to plan, one has to wonder what plan is meant. Apparently there are more than one », Gallyamov ends his telegram message.

Neither Rosneft nor the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the allegations to Newsweek magazine.
