Macron wrote in a tweet on Friday (local time) that he met Musk in the afternoon and had a clear and honest conversation with him. Musk has committed to taking action against terrorist and violent extremist content and to better protecting children online.
Conformément à notre ambition of decarboner et réindustrialiser la France et l’Europe, j’ai échangé aujourd’hui avec @Elon Musk on future industrials verts projects, note on the manufacture of electric vehicles and batteries. pic.twitter.com/oMwcejKGx6

Since Musk’s takeover of Twitter, there have been widespread concerns that under his leadership and following the major job cuts he endured, more hate speech and abuse could end up on the platform. Musk himself had raised such concerns with repeated criticism that Twitter had over-restricted free speech on the platform.
In another tweet, Macron wrote that he also exchanged thoughts with Musk about future green industrial projects, such as electric vehicle and battery manufacturing. In addition, the president provided a photo of Musk and himself at a conference table. “I look forward to exciting plans in France,” Musk wrote in response. He also owns the electric car company Tesla. (sda/dpa)
