Rapper Kanye West and ex-US president Donald Trump are fighting on social networks. Background is a dinner that would have taken place on Tuesday at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in the US state of Florida. According to West, far-right nationalist Nick Fuentes also participated.
Trump has since responded to reports: West, who now calls himself Ye, called him about dinner, the ex-president wrote on Friday on the Truth Social platform he co-founded. “Shortly after, he showed up unexpectedly with three of his friends that I didn’t know.” The meal was then “quick and quiet” in the presence of many others.
West previously posted a video to Twitter claiming that Trump was “impressed” with Fuentes. West also said he had suggested to Trump that the ex-president run as his running mate in the 2024 election. He responded “disturbed” by the suggestion.

He yelled at him across the table and made him understand that he thought West was going to lose. He allegedly told Trump:

In the video, the rapper also says that Trump would have insulted his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Kanye repeated the ex-president’s words in the video, but they were censored. “This is the mother of my children!” Kanye thought to himself when he heard Trump’s words.
Two presidential candidates?
Trump (76) declared a little over a week ago that he wanted to run again in 2024 as the Republican presidential candidate.
West (45) already indicated in 2020 that he wanted to participate again in the 2024 vote. He recently posted videos on Twitter with the words “Ye 24”.
In 2020, West ran for president of the U.S., but due to missed registration deadlines, he fell short of the ballot in most states.
The rapper was once one of the few stars to publicly speak out for Trump. Most recently, he repeatedly spread anti-Semitic hate speech – the sporting goods manufacturer Adidas ended cooperation with him. (saw/sda/dpa)
