Accordingly, the attacker first stormed into a school and fired several shots with a pistol in the entrance area and in the teachers’ lounge. Two people died there. He then drove a car to another school and killed another person there. The gunman eventually fled. The police launched a manhunt for the perpetrator.
“It is with great regret and great sadness that I follow the investigation into the attack on the schools in Aracruz,” Espírito Santo Governor Renato Casagrande wrote on Twitter. “All our security forces have been deployed.” In March 2019, ten people were killed in a school shooting in Brazil. At the time, two young men had killed students and employees at their former school in São Paulo state. (saw/sda/dpa)
