Climate protection protesters have blocked the highway from Berlin to the airport. Several men and women sat in the street Friday morning just before they left for the airport, as reporters reported and seen in photos from the “Last Generation” initiative. There was a long traffic jam.
The climate protest initiative announced that its members drove more and more slowly on the highway with several cars next to each other, stopped before the exit, parked the cars across the street, got out with warning vests and banners and stuck to the street.
At the start of the week, the group announced it would “peacefully paralyze airports” after numerous blockades of highway exits and intersections. She calls for more measures to combat climate change, such as a speed limit on highways and cheap local transport. The blockades have been running in many German cities since the beginning of this year. The police have filed hundreds of criminal cases for coercion and resistance.
