Florida retiree runs for president

“Florida man makes announcement,” reads the front page of the New York Post tabloid. The once-loyal outlet points to page 26 for Donald Trump’s next bid for the US presidency.

A mini text full of irony explains: “Tuesday night, just 720 days before the next election, a Florida retiree surprisingly announced that he was running for president.”

“Enthusiastic golfer Donald J. Trump”

And further: The “enthusiastic golfer Donald J. Trump” made the announcement “that no political pundits saw coming” at Mar-a-Lago. They call his property “his resort and his library of classified documents.”

The latter is an allusion to the Trump affair over classified documents he hoarded ex-president in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

Trump as old as Biden if he wins

The tabloid once again made a clear reminder that Trump would be 78 years old if he won in 2024. When Joe Biden (79) became US president at that age, Trump repeatedly tore him into speeches that he was far too old for the office.

DeSantis fans troll Trump with a banner

Media magnate Rupert Murdoch (91) is clearly no longer behind Trump. He controls the major conservative broadcasters and newspapers, including the New York Post, the Wall Street Journal and Fox News.

“Trump Dumpty”

They have always been positive about Trump’s policies. However, Murdoch’s media has been critical of late, calling the ex-president the Republicans’ “loser.” “Trumpty Dumpty” headlined the “New York Post” shortly after the midterm elections. A pun on Trump’s name and the word fool. (EU)
