Police discovered the bodies of four students in an apartment near the University of Idaho campus in the northwestern United States. The university said they were likely the victims of a murder, citing the investigators on Twitter on Sunday (local time).

There was initially an emergency call for an unconscious person, police said in the small town of Moscow. The officers then found the four dead at the scene.

Initially, the investigators did not provide any information about the identity of the victims, the cause of death and the possible background. It just said there was no danger to the public. The families have been notified. The police have also asked for information about what happened. Out of respect for the victims, the university has canceled classes for Monday.
Moscow has about 25,000 inhabitants and is located in northwest Idaho, about 350 kilometers from the regional capital Boise and near the border with Washington state. (aeg/sda/dpa)
