Cassis talks to Macron in Paris about EU relations Musk sells Tesla shares worth about $4 billion

Federal President Ignazio Cassis met his French counterpart Emmanuel Cassis for talks in Paris on Friday evening. The official visit to the sidelines of the fifth Paris Peace Forum covered, among other things, Switzerland’s relations with the EU.

The meeting of the two counterparts follows their exchange at the first European Political Community meeting on October 6, 2022 in Prague, according to a statement from the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) on Friday evening.

A year ago, for planning reasons, Macron officially postponed a meeting at the Elysée Palace in Paris with then-Federal President Guy Parmelin. The cancellation follows Switzerland’s decision to buy US FA-35 fighter jets instead of France’s Rafales and the unilateral suspension of negotiations over the framework agreement with the EU. (sda)
