“That’s why we announced a deduction after the 8th.”

The Russian army is withdrawing from Kherson and Ukraine has already recaptured numerous villages on Thursday evening. The deduction is also a big topic on Russian TV. The moderator and Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov (59) commented on that on Wednesday.

He claims to have pitched his program concept to “Rossiya 1″ because of the Kherson retreat. He says: “We have a very different show scheduled tonight. We actually wanted to talk about the US election, but then we got the news from Kherson.”

Russians reportedly refused to help Biden

Solovyov then briefly discussed the retreat with his guests. According to him, however, it is strongly related to the American midterms.

Solovyov claims that not announcing the withdrawal earlier was a tactic. The alleged reason: The announcement of Kherson’s withdrawal would have helped US President Joe Biden (79) and Democrats in the election.

Postponed announcement «not to influence»

Solovyov says: “That’s exactly why we announced the withdrawal after the 8th, so as not to influence the US elections.” However, this Kremlin theory must be questioned. It is highly unlikely that this fact would have influenced the conduct of the elections.

A “smashing” Republican victory could have had some impact on the war in Ukraine. This is because several Republicans have said they want to end financial aid to Ukraine. According to experts, a re-election of Donald Trump (76) would also be positive for Russia. Still, Kherson’s announcement is unlikely to have made a difference during the midterms.
