Trump spokeswoman, 25-year-old and first openly gay

American Democrat Maura Healey (51) is the first openly gay woman in the country’s history to be elected governor. According to American broadcasters in the state of Massachusetts, the 51-year-old won the congressional and governor elections on Tuesday against Republican Geoff Diehl (53).

Healey is the former Attorney General of Massachusetts. During the so-called midterms in the US, the entire House of Representatives, a third of the Senate and the governors of 36 of the 50 US states were elected on Tuesday.

Trump spokeswoman becomes governor

Sarah Huckabee Sanders (40) has been elected governor of Arkansas, former spokeswoman for ex-President Donald Trump (76). According to American broadcasters, the 40-year-old Republican won against the Democrat Chris Jones (52). Her father, Mike Huckabee, was governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007.

“The Democrats could lose the majority”

With Maxwell Alejandro Frost (25) someone from Generation Z enters the congress for the first time. The 25-year-old Democrat won the election in Florida’s 10th congressional district on Tuesday over Republican Calvin Wimbish, the Associated Press reports.

First of Generation Z

Frost will fill the Orlando seat vacated by Rep. Val Demings, 65, the Democratic nominee for senator.

It is rare for 25-year-olds to be elected to Congress. Before Rep. Madison Cawthorn, a Republican from North Carolina, won in 2020, it hadn’t happened in more than 45 years. (EU)
