Ukraine thinks German tanks are “super cool”. That is why the Ukrainian Defense Ministry thanks Germany for its military support with a video that is not meant seriously.
Military scenes and photos of the anti-aircraft guns Gepard and IRIS-T, which had already been delivered, were clipped into the video and described as “super cool” — and right in the middle, the cult Berliner Friedrich Liechtenstein. The clips featuring Liechtenstein come from the iconic Edeka commercial “Supergeil” and are accompanied by the song of the same name.
At the end of the clip, Ukraine asks Germany for Leopard tanks.
Friedrich Liechtenstein knew nothing about the video. When asked by t-online, his management explained that the compilation was not an official collaboration. “It’s a very old campaign being used in it,” said manager Ute Zahn. The “Super Horny” cult has often been quoted for various purposes in the past. Liechtenstein itself no longer uses it.
Tank debate in Germany
The arms supplies from Germany are controversial, the government has long hesitated with the delivery of heavy equipment. In the meantime, 30 Gepard anti-aircraft tanks, ten Bergepanzer 2 armored vehicles and an Iris-T SLM air defense system have been made available.
The German arms deliveries are communicated in detail by the German federal government. The list, which can be viewed online, is constantly being updated.
It is currently being investigated whether Switzerland can also supply generators, pumps or water treatment systems.
More than 30 percent of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure has been damaged as a result of targeted Russian attacks and access to electricity and drinking water has been cut off in many places. The approaching winter aggravates this situation. (Yes)
