That’s how bad it is in Putin’s recruitment agencies

The desperation in the leadership of the Russian army seems to be growing. After Russian President Vladimir Putin (70) announced a partial mobilization, people across the country were sent to the Ukraine war against their will. Single parents, cancer patients and half-blind people were also called upon – the most important thing was that the quotas to be achieved were met.

Among the conscripts were men like Igor Z.* (33). The engineer from Moscow received marching orders and then took steps to recruit Chief Wiktor K.*’s office. “He personally told him that he has a wife with a disability, that he himself has a congenital heart defect and that his military specialization is a sailor-cableman,” the 33-year-old’s wife told Novaya Gazeta.

But then the big shock: “K. responded to my husband’s comments that he didn’t care. He has a quota to achieve and would also call for crooked, cross-eyed and handicapped people. » A medical examination has not taken place. “Everyone will be declared fit for the army immediately.”

“Nobody Goes Back”

Sergei C.* (31) also had to find out. “We were asked if we had any medical limitations. Anyone who answered yes had to take a medical test.” However, no real investigation has taken place. “The doctors looked at us and nodded and declared us fit.”

C. himself is extremely shortsighted, says he has -8 diopters. Military service in peacetime? Unimaginable. But even this extreme case did not interest recruit chief K.. “He just said we were at war and not at peace. So I’m fit for duty,” the 31-year-old said.

But that’s not all: a day after the recruitment, the two men are called up again, along with other drafted soldiers. They are taken by bus to a military training center where the commanders are waiting for them. “We were told that only snipers are needed. The rest is not needed at this point. K. then told the commanders that he would not push back any of the new soldiers.”

By bus directly to the military court

After hours of waiting, K. then goes to extremes. Without further ado, he changes the military specializations of the conscripts and puts all the men on the list of specialized snipers. For example, men who have never held a weapon in their hands have become snipers, the Gazeta reports.

“K said anyone who disagreed could get back on the bus. He would then personally drive the bus to the military court’, says the brand new man. There they would be treated as deserters and given prison time, the recruit chief threatened.

Only after a long back and forth were the men – at least temporarily – released. Now a military tribunal must decide whether C., Z. and other unfit men should go into battle – as snipers, which they really aren’t. (see)
