After a traffic accident followed by a knife attack on a busy Berlin street, both the cyclist who was run over by a concrete mixer and the driver of the car came to hospital. The woman was seriously injured, police said Monday. According to his own statements, the driver of the concrete mixer was attacked with a knife by an unknown person next to his car shortly after the accident.
The man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. Police are investigating the accident on the Bundesallee in the western part of the capital and the suspected knife attack.
At the same time, climate activists from the Last Generation group took to the streets. Due to this blockage, an ambulance would have been stuck in traffic and wanted to drive to the accident as quickly as possible. He apparently arrived late because of the climate campaign.
Activists from the Last Generation group said some of them were protesting on the city highway, disrupting traffic. The group cannot rule out the possibility that the delay of the vehicle is “due to a traffic jam caused by us”. She sincerely hopes that the cyclist’s health “has not deteriorated due to the delay”.
