The seven-year-old lives near the town of Rubyvale in the northeast of the country. The region is known for its mining and gemstone fields. Betteridge’s family also runs a gemstone business. Riley’s father Matt had previously published his son’s find on the Tiktok portal.

“He has an eye for it,” said father Matt, “Yahoo! News” about his son’s discovery. In order for the stone to reach its full value, it should now be prepared accordingly. However, the family left what would happen to the stone to their son.
