A tornado caused extensive damage in three states in the central United States on Thursday evening. At least three people were killed in Logan County, Ohio, according to Sheriff Randall Dodds.
A tornado warning was issued for more than 13 million people on Thursday; In addition to parts of Ohio, the storm also passed through counties in Indiana and Kentucky.

Sheriff Dodds said the destruction in Ohio was so extensive that heavy equipment was needed to search for possible more injured people. According to the president of the local chamber of commerce, the tornado caused “tremendous” damage in the Indian Lake area.
Authorities said 38 people were injured in Indiana, although earlier reports of residents’ deaths were later unconfirmed. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said the tornado passed through Gallatin and Trimble counties. However, no one was injured.
