A 15-year-old Russian with suspected links to extremist and radicalized circles has been arrested in Vaud. The cantonal police of Vaud and Geneva collaborated on the operation last Wednesday. The police did not want to specify what type of extremism it was.

Police investigations coordinated by the Federal Police Office (Fedpol), especially in connection with exchanges on social networks, have led to the identification of the minor Russian citizen living in the Canton of Vaud, Vaud authorities announced on Friday.

The minor was taken into custody under the supervision of the chairman of the Juvenile Court. The investigation was entrusted to the security police of the canton of Vaud. They continue to determine the exact extent of the Russian’s criminal activities and possible connections to other cases in Switzerland and abroad, the report said. (sda)
