At the beginning of March, a previously unknown perpetrator attacked and robbed the ‘advertising master’, as Niclas Matthei calls himself. This was reported by the Leipziger Volkszeitung.
The attacker is said to be a football fan who was traveling home from the match between Halleschen FC and Dynamo Dresden together with other supporters. According to the German police report, the perpetrator allegedly took Matthei’s mobile phone by force. The “advertising master” was injured and had to be taken to hospital with injuries. His mobile phone was later found on the platform and police are still investigating the matter.
Matthei became known through a report by Spiegel TV. A journalist accompanied the 18-year-old East German one day during his hobby – this is quite strange: Matthei reports illegal parking in his spare time. He reports the violations to the police via an app.
It goes without saying that he is not well received by the general public. Matthei often receives heavy criticism on his social media profiles and is repeatedly – at least implicitly – threatened with violence. But he also receives support from time to time.

According to his own information, the teenager, who practices his hobby with an e-bike, has caused fines of 140,995 euros (more than 135,000 francs) through his reporting in 2023. It is not known whether the authorities have processed the reports of all reported cases.
We have summarized here why Matthei pursues such an unusual hobby and what he receives from the criticism:
