Cleaning staff sometimes make gruesome discoveries. But what a cleaning lady discovered in a Hong Kong apartment will make your blood run cold.
She found two dead babies in the living room of an apartment, police said on Saturday, according to the AP news agency. As if that wasn’t enough, the bodies of the little children were also in glass bottles. A man and a woman, believed to be the parents, were arrested.
The bottles were 30 centimeters in size and the bodies showed no obvious signs of injury, lead investigator Au Yeung Tak told reporters. He said an autopsy would be carried out to determine the ages of the babies and whether they were stillborn.
A couple moves and leaves baby bodies behind
A man (24) and a woman (22) have been arrested. They are accused of illegally disposing of bodies. Au Yeung said the couple lived in the apartment.
The landlord sent the cleaner to the apartment on Friday. The couple had recently moved. Hong Kong broadcaster RTHK reported that the bodies were “soaked in liquid and kept in bottles.”
