The Vienna police confirmed an operation via X. Accordingly, a 26-year-old reportedly called 911 on Tuesday because he “found a 14-year-old friend lifeless in his apartment.” Despite attempts at resuscitation, only the teenager’s death could be confirmed. In addition to investigating the crime scene, an autopsy was ordered and “drug intoxication was determined.” It is still unclear whether this led to the girl’s death.

“She came to die”

According to information from the online portal “Heute”, the apartment is owned by an Afghan who came to Austria in 2015. His asylum application was rejected at first instance in the summer of 2016. However, he would have received subsidiary protection after a complaint.

According to local residents, the man protested his innocence after the arrival of the police. “She was drunk. “She was taking her own medication and drinking alcohol,” the young man allegedly shouted. He had nothing to do with the girl’s death and had only met her on the street a few days ago. “She came to die.” (dmo/nad)
