Stadler supplies more locomotives to New Zealand

Stadler Rail will supply additional locomotives for the New Zealand state railway KiwiRail. A total of 33 additional locomotives were ordered through two contracts. Stadler did not mention the order value in a statement Tuesday.

Stadler currently produces 57 narrow gauge locomotives, which were ordered by KiwiRail in 2021. According to the announcement, nine mainline locomotives equipped with the ETCS (European Train Control System) and 24 battery-diesel hybrid shunting locomotives will be delivered. There are also spare parts, special tools and technical services. (sda/awp)
