Here on the Reuss Bridge in Bremgarten a puppy fell into the river.

A dog owner went for a walk with his puppy on Wednesday. It should be a nice route through Bremgarten AG. It happened on a bridge near the small hydroelectric power stations Bremgarten-Bruggmühle: the puppy, which was not on a leash, suddenly fell into the Reuss. His owner jumped into the ice-cold water right behind him to save the animal – and that was near the small hydroelectric power station Bremgarten-Bruggmühle.

A resident saw the dramatic scene and immediately came to help with a ladder, Manfred Tschannen, the head of the Bremgarten regional police, confirmed to the “Aargauer Zeitung”. The alert helper was quickly supported by two patrols, who also quickly arrived at the scene of the accident.

It is better to walk along the coast and not jump into the water

This was the only way to quickly rescue the owner and the puppies and get them out of the water. According to police, the animal is doing well and the dog’s owner was taken to the hospital due to hypothermia.

The first reflex is to jump after your dog falls into a river, but the animals are good swimmers. Especially in winter it is too dangerous for the owners to jump into the water. Therefore, owners should walk along the shore and immediately call the police. (Unpleasant)
