When the Bad Tölz volunteer fire brigade received a phone call around 5:20 am on Tuesday morning requesting technical assistance, no one must have thought anything of it. The help was needed in the emergency room of the Asclepius city clinic, because the hospital staff were at the end of their resources. The reason: a man’s penis was stuck in a sturdy metal ring.
Thomas Fuchsgruber, fire brigade commander, explained that the situation also briefly paralyzed the fire brigade. According to the commander’s estimates, the “really massive ring made of stainless steel” was about “three centimeters wide and half an inch thick,” Fuchsgruber told “tz.” You need a special device to remove intimate jewelry: “Our equipment supervisor was also on site and had already brought the right items,” the fire chief continued.
Penis protected with gauze bandages
A multi-tool with a special attachment was used that allows you to saw wood and metal. We got to work with a lot of feeling and patience. While the metal was cooled with water so that it did not get hot when sawing, the man’s good part was protected with gauze bandages. The procedure ultimately took an hour and a half. Fuchsgruber: “We had to keep taking breaks.” It took three saw blades to remove the ring.
The hard metal was sawed open in two places, but the man and his penis were unharmed. Fuchsgruber cannot say how expensive the complex operation is. But the man will probably have to pay the bill. A total of six emergency services were needed to free him. (Unpleasant)
