Because she did not yet have a ticket, at the end of January a 62-year-old wanted to get on at the front of the bus driver in Konstanz (D). With fatal consequences: At that moment the driver closed the doors and clamped the woman’s hands. She fell backwards on the sidewalk with broken hands – which of course the bus driver didn’t care about. He just kept driving.
According to the “Südkurier”, the municipal utilities of Konstanz do not want to make a statement about the incident. The driver is still on duty. However, police have opened a case and are looking for witnesses to the incident – as it is not the first time there have been problems with a public bus.
The shortage of personnel is increasing
Already in October 2023, a memorable event took place on one of the public buses: a woman, also on bus line 4/13, but this time on the way to the city center, just wanted to get up and run to the door to get out . When she was already standing, she was surprised by a heavy braking maneuver and flew straight through the bus. She dislocated a shoulder and tore two tendons.
According to “Südkurier” there were many layoffs at the end of last year – failures and overworked drivers were the result. According to the company, the situation has now stabilized again. (Unpleasant)
