On Saturday evening, an unknown man broke into an apartment building in the German town of Rendsburg, police said. But a German burglar was not interested in money or jewelry. During his act he felt more attracted to the refrigerator. There he found a juicy cheesecake and immediately started snacking.
At the same time, the resident was sitting in the living room and heard suspicious noises. The confused tenant went to investigate and found the burglar partying at the kitchen table.
Thief fled over the roof
When the resident spoke to him, he immediately fled from a sliding window on the first floor and disappeared over the roof. According to police, nothing except the cheesecake was stolen.
There have already been similar cases in Switzerland: in January 2023, a burglar broke into the home of Eldin B.* (21) and his girlfriend Chiara W.* (21). The burglar entered the kitchen of the single-family home in Sonceboz BE – and ate a piece of lasagna. He ignored the expensive electronic devices and watches.
In the same month, a man broke into a Swiss woman’s apartment while she was at work. He cooked pasta for himself, took a bath and left a mess behind. “He cooked himself pasta, did his laundry and I’m pretty sure he took a bath too,” she recalled of the time of night of the burglary. The bathroom flooded, a plastic bucket was damaged – the material damage amounted to 1,000 francs.
