Broken apart in mid-air: Deaths in small plane crash in Brazil Holocaust Remembrance: How a child survived Josef Mengele’s experiments

Authorities said seven people were killed on Sunday when a small plane crashed in southeastern Brazil. The single-engine plane apparently disintegrated in mid-air after taking off from the city of Campinas in São Paulo state.

Fire officials said the small plane crashed in the mining town of Itapeva. Seven prisoners were found dead.

Images circulating on online networks and in Brazilian media showed the plane wreckage on a hill covered in grass and trees. In the morning, heavy rain fell at the crash site. (sda/afp)
