Jutta Boden is a politician for the Green Party.

On Saturday evening, police officers in Berlin stopped a car because they suspected it was being driven under the influence. When they saw the driver of the vehicle, they were surprised: it was Green Party politician Jutta Boden (63).

The officers conducted an alcohol test. This confirmed the suspicion: the 63-year-old traveled with a blood alcohol level of 1.34! Boden then had to leave her car on the outskirts of Berlin and sit in the back seat of the police car.

“That’s a total innuendo.”

According to the police report, the Green politician suddenly gave the Hitler salute while driving. She also said twice: “Heil Hitler!” to the officials. “That is a total assumption,” said Jutta Boden about the image at “Bild”. However, she does not deny that she was driving drunk.

The German also has an explanation for showing the Hitler salute. She felt she was not treated correctly by the police. For this reason, she then asked why she was being treated this way. After all, she doesn’t shout “Heil Hitler”; and in this context she then gave the Hitler salute.

Resigned as district councilor

The politician will be investigated not only for drunk driving, but also for using “signals from unconstitutional and terrorist organizations”.

Boden later explained: “Driving under the influence of alcohol and my inappropriate and incorrect response during a police stop were unacceptable. I would like to sincerely apologize for this misconduct.” On Saturday evening she resigned as a district councilor of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. (obf)
