Why Donald Trump Threatens Haley Donors Martin Sellner: A Fascist Zombie Returns

The ex-president is behaving more and more childishly.

As is known, one must be humble in triumph. Not so Donald Trump. After his victory in the New Hampshire primary, he delivered a venomous speech in which he insulted his last remaining rival, Nikki Haley, and threatened her: “I won’t get angry, I will get revenge.”

The ex-president immediately followed these words with action. On his platform Truth Social, he warned Haley donors: “Anyone who continues to donate to the bird brain will be forever expelled from the MAGA camp. We don’t want these guys and we won’t accept them because we put America first and we always will.”

So far so childish – calling an opponent a “bird brain” isn’t exactly confident – but also so far stupid. The shot went violently backwards. Just a few hours later, Nikki Haley was able to report an influx of donations of approximately $2 million. Her statement that Trump mainly rages when he feels insecure was also impressively confirmed.

The ex-president also has every reason to be restless. Despite the victory in New Hampshire, this primary also exposed his weaknesses. Voter polls show Nikki Haley is actually hurting him. 77 percent of Haley voters surveyed said they would not vote for Trump in November. With everyone expecting a close election, this is a very bad message for the Trump team.

The ex-president makes everything worse with his behavior. Nikki Haley will not throw in the towel like all other male opponents. On the contrary, Trump builds them up with his tirades. The former UN ambassador can now play the stateswoman and, for example, take the advice of Peggy Noonan, an influential columnist in the Wall Street Journal and former advisor to Ronald Reagan, to heart.

Noonan advises Haley, woman to woman, “You’re the Asian girl in class who extends her hand. You’re smart, you’ve done your homework. Trump, on the other hand, is the blond boy in the back row who makes jokes and chews gum. Gently knock that chewing gum out of his mouth. Enjoy attacking him, not in a bitter way like Chris Christie, but as someone who looks like he enjoys a good fight.”

Trump is already unpopular among suburban women. Haley may make this dislike even worse, and the fact that the ex-president is currently embroiled in a lawsuit over the amount of compensation he must pay to EJ Carroll doesn’t make him more popular with women either. Trump sexually assaulted this journalist in the 1990s and later defamed her.

Things are also going badly for the ex-president at the moment. It has just been announced that the American gross domestic product also grew by 3.3 percent in the last quarter of last year. Instead of the recession predicted by a majority of economists, the economy is in great shape. Consumer confidence has also improved noticeably, while stock markets are racing from record to record.

The chance of a burglary is low. Under the ‘Taylor Rule’, the National Bank can cut key interest rates by a full percent and thus support the economy without fueling inflation. (The Taylor rule is named after the economist John B. Taylor. It is a formula that calculates the optimal level of key interest rates.)

Biden can now finally show off the results of his economic policies, and he is doing so. Hardly a day goes by without him ushering in a new infrastructure project and pointing out that such projects would have fizzled out under his predecessor.
