Driving too fast usually causes a lot of problems. Veronica Koval (27) from the US state of Virginia also had this experience. The young woman was driving too fast on her way to work and was stopped by the police at too high a speed.
The consequences in the US are harsh: Koval had to serve a ten-day prison sentence. There was also a fine of about $750. But she probably didn’t expect the 27-year-old to become an internet star in May 2023 because of her traffic violation.
The reason for the Instagram fame: when her police photo (mugshot) was published on the “mugshawtys” account, the brunette caused a veritable earthquake of likes. The followers of the profile, which regularly posts police photos, couldn’t get enough of the woman. “Who gave me her Insta name,” one user commented. Another: “This woman looks like a supermodel.” Another person wrote under the post: “You are welcome to drive into my house.”
Is she starting as a model now?
Finally, Koval himself spoke in the comment columns. She explains, “Guys, I had to go to Starbucks and then go to work.”
Koval now has more than 3,600 followers on her private Instagram account. Her ‘fans’ love Koval’s authentic character. There are words of encouragement in her posts: “Don’t let it hold you back. I read your story in the newspaper and I wish you all the best for the future.”
Koval is not the first person to gain fame through a mugshot. Luxury brand model Jeremy Meeks made his breakthrough after the publication of his mugshot. Meeks has long been considered the most beautiful criminal of all time. He was sent to prison in 2014 for illegal gun possession. (An)
