Shots were fired in an Aldi store in Mörfelden-Walldorf near Frankfurt in the evening. A cashier was killed. The perpetrator then shot himself, the police and the Public Prosecution Service announced in the evening.
According to initial findings, a 48-year-old man entered the supermarket around 7:15 p.m. He then allegedly shot a 38-year-old store employee several times. The woman did not survive the shots.
There were other employees and some customers in the supermarket at the time of the crime. It is said that these are currently being looked after by pastors and the police.
In the past there was talk of a personal relationship between the shooter and the person killed. The police say they see this as a possible motive. The investigation is ongoing.
