Rabbis call for ceasefire as United Nations Boeing jet problem mounts after near miss – Boeing boss admits mistakes

Three dozen rabbis and rabbinical students protested outside the United Nations on Tuesday. They called for a ceasefire in Gaza and criticized US President Joe Biden.

At a recent meeting, the UN Security Council discussed a ceasefire resolution. The United States vetoed this proposal even though the majority of members had voted in favor.

The 36 rabbis belonged to several American Jewish activist groups, such as Jewish Voice for Peace, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice and Rabbis for Armistice. According to the Huffington Post, on January 9, they were given a tour of the UN Security Council chamber in New York City, where they began their protest.

Chants and calls

The activists chanted and held up banners with slogans such as “Biden: The world says ceasefire” and “Biden: Stop vetoing peace.” An appeal was then made to the United Nations. The song was a prayer of the prophet Isaiah and means something like: “Men must no longer lift up the sword against men, and they must no longer learn to make war.”

is distributed in the US

Jewish groups in the US remain divided over Israel’s response to Hamas’ attack on October 7.

Anti-Defamation League executive director Jonathan Greenblatt has described groups calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, such as the Jewish Voice for Peace, as “hate groups” that do not represent the Jewish community. (lso)
