Following outrage at a party featuring scantily clad Russian celebrities, famed Moscow nightclub Mutabor has been forced to close for 90 days. A court ordered the temporary closure on Wednesday for violating “hygienic and epidemiological requirements”.
At the end of December, videos appeared on online networks showing numerous famous faces from the entertainment industry in lingerie and other revealing outfits celebrating together under the motto “Almost Naked” at the Mutabor club.
Rapper went to jail
Although the Kremlin declined to comment, the recordings sparked outrage among several conservative politicians. They called for investigations against the participants.
Prominent guests, such as Russian ESC winner Dima Bilan, pop star Filipp Kirkorov, well-known journalist Xenia Sobchak and the organizer, actress Anastasia Ivleyeva, publicly apologized after the party.
Russian rapper Vacio, who was seen in photos from the celebration wearing only a sock over his genitals, was sentenced to 15 days in prison and drafted to a military recruitment center. Since the start of the offensive in Ukraine, the Kremlin has escalated its conservative rhetoric. (AFP)
